Fit For A McQueen! Duchess Of Cambridge Rewears Tartan McQ Dress For Christmas
It's Christmas morning and there's presents galore, turkeys to be stuffed and several hangovers to quell. There's also a familiar Royal Family making their way to church. Yes, pictures have landed of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arriving for the Christmas Day service at Sandringham in King's Lynn accompanied by the Queen, but no Baby George (boo!). The young Prince had travelled with his parents to the Queen's Estate, but was left at home for the service. Perhaps the 3,000 well-wishers who gathered outside the church to watch the family arrive would be a tad overwhelming...
So what's Kate wearing? Well, in true recycle chic style, she's rewearing one of her finest outfits: a festive tartan coat dress. Featuring long-sleeves, a high-neck and a flared knee-length skirt, there's no prizes for guessing that it comes courtesy of Alexander McQueen and is, in fact, from the Brit brand's sister line, McQ. Of course, the founder of Kate's favourite fashion house was Scottish and this navy and green tartan is a tribute to Scotland’s 3rd Battalion Regiment, known as the Black Watch.

We first saw the look back in November last year when the DoC visited her old preparatory school in Berkshire to celebrate St Andrew’s Day. Although the exact piece is not available, McQ's Black Watch plaid coat from the Autumn Winter 2012 collection is available for a princely £4210 from net-a-porter. Last minute Christmas gift, anyone?
The tailored design is super-flattering on our K-Middy. On the accessories front, she's kept cosy in her Aquatalia Rhumba boots over black tights and has topped off the look with a fancy fascinator by Gina Foster. But this is already Kate's second look of the day. Earlier this morning, we saw the Duchess greet the Queen with a peck on the cheek as the party arrived at St Mary Magdalene church. She looked gorgeously elegant in a camel knee-length coat with a tartan shawl wrapped around her shoulders while Queenie wore a brown fur coat. Perhaps a spot of baby sick on the camel coat forced her to change?
The Royal party attending the service also included Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Philip, Princess Anne and Prince Andrew. A very pregnant Zara Tindall arrived with her husband Mike and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie pulled on their Sunday finest too. But we're most impressed with Prince Harry's fiery face furniture. Hazza is still sporting the beard from his exertions in the Arctic with the charity Walking With the Wounded and we have to say, we're rather taken with the rugged look. Lucky Cressida!
